Ellen, I tried stroke (outlining) it earlier, but that just made it hard to read. I just tried adding a glow effect which sort of added a shadow. Let me know what you think.

The lighter purple text needs to have more contrast...it's fading into the darker purple background. Overall, the splash is nice
